Born in Oakland California, Michael is the third child born of four sons raised by Bonita McCain. Working at this music store gave him the opportunity to open his mind to all types of different music, which greatly influenced his artwork. He began working on his portfolio by paying tribute to artists whom he greatly admired and he continues on this path to this day. His artwork is a variety of different styles and formats, as well as using different mediums to express himself, including painting, pastels, collogues, drawings, photography, screenwriting, and now Digital Illustration.

His artwork also consists of themes of Black History, Music, Abstracts, Portraits, Cartoons, as well as an original Graphic novel he is currently working on. For 17 years he was working in Higher Education as a Associate Director, Student Advisor and Academic Coach. “My art has a wide range of emotion from the innocence of youth to man’s fury. I try to work with different styles of art on every piece I create, whether I am working with oils, acrylics, graphite or digital, each piece has its own moods and evokes different feelings.”
Music has always been a big part of my life and much of my artwork is musically related since so many members of my family are musicians. I love to pay homage to artist who have passed on and entertainers who have made an impact on my life. This website displays a variety of different pieces I have been working on over the years. It shows full range of my abilities as a visual artist and serves to inspire others to create for themselves.
